sleep, interrupted

The other day, I grabbed what I thought was a tupperware container of leftover soup, only to pull it out of the work refrigerator at lunch and find that it was actually Swedish pancake batter.

I was just looking at a Google map of Anacortes, and then I zoomed out and out and out, and realized that if you hop on the interstate and just keep going, you can see the whole United States after a while.  It makes me want to pull a John Steinbeck, get a motor home and a dog, a pencil and a tablet, and just go.

It’s a ring that looks like Gustav Klimt painting.  My sister thinks it’s ugly, but I think it’s wonderful.

I know I’m hypersensitive, but this kind of thing really gets me:

connected

As our shared wound ebbs and flows, I put myself in all sorts of shoes. There is a measure of comfort in knowing that those I admire have also waded through the raw material of life, and that they did it with moxie, able to see the humor in dirty sleeves and skinned knees.
